Geyser
A vent in the earth's surface that periodically ejects a column of hot water. It erupts when superheated ground water, confined at depth, becomes hot enough to blast its way to the surface (steam jets).

Hot Springs
The emergence of geothermal heated ground water from the earth's crust. If the groundwater source of a spring flows close to an area of recent intrusive volcanic activity, the water is heated and a spring becomes a hot spring (20 - 90).

Boiling Mud
Sometimes there is ground water below the ground deposit which is heated, but doesn't explode. When the water mixes with surface deposits, boiling mud is formed.

An opening in the earth's crust. Low pressure outlets of steam and gas. Steam is created when superheated water turns to steam as its pressure drops when it emerges from the ground.

At constructive boundaries, lava is rich in iron and magnesium and rather fluid. Temperature of about 1200. Flows for long distances before solidifying, and forms gently sloping volcanoes.
