What is a factor of a Number?
A whole number that divides exactly into a number. Factors include 1 and the number itself.

Teh result of multiplying a number by a positive whole number. 15 is a multiple of 5.

A number greater than 1 which has only two factors itself and 1.

Any factor of a number that is a prime number.

Writing a number as the product of its prime factors.

What is the HCF? (Highest Common Factor)
The highest factor of two numbers that is common to both so

How do i find the HCF?
Write each number in prime factor form. Then pick out the common factors that appear in both and multiply example 12 is the HCF of 720 adn 84

What is the LCM? (Lowest common multiple)
The lowest number that is a multiple of them both.

How do I find the LCM?
First look at the prime factor forms of the two numbers. The LCM must contain all the prime factors of both numbers, multiply and get LCM. Example LCM of 8 and 6 is 24.

The result of multiplying a whole number by by itself.
