decides on international agreements. decides on whether to admit new member State. Review the Commission's work programme and ask it to propose legislation.

the court must 'ensure that in the interpretation and application of the Treaty the law is observed'. Court sits in chambers. Judges are appointed.Each judge is appointed for a term of 6 yrs.
