Human Rights Act 1998
Through this Act UK courts are able to apply the legal rights in the ECHR directly to UK cases

s2 HRA
REquires UK courts to take into account decision of the European Court of Human Rights. Decision are not binding on them but are 'persuasive'

S3 HRA
UK courts, as far as possible, interpret all legislation in a way which makes it compatible with the ECHR as set out in Sch 1 of HRA

S4 HRA
If Courts cannot interpret primary legislation in a way which complies with the ECHR they must apply the Act and may make a declaration of incompatibility

S6 HRA
Only public authorities are required to comply with the ECHR on Human Rights in Sch 1 of HRA
7 of 8
S7 HRA
A victim of a break of the HRA is entitled to bring a clain against the public body which has committed the breach
