Everyone charged with a crime has the following minimum rights - to be informed promptly - adequate time to prepare a defence - right to a lawyer (legal aid) - examine witnesses - free assistance of an interpreter if they don't speak the language.

freedom of peaceful assembly - freedom to association with others - right to form and join trade unions for the protection of his interests.

right to marry and to found a family - right age according to national laws governing the exercise of this right.

rights that are violated shall have an effective remedy before a national authority notwithstanding that the violation has been committed by persons acting in an official capacity.

rights secured without discrimination on any grounds such as sex, race, colour, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or status.

war or public emergence - any High Contracting Party may take measures derogating from its obligations under convention - such measures cannot be inconsistent with other obligations under international law.
