Liberal Christians
These Christians believe that the Genesis holds truth, as God did create the world and everything in it, but it is read in a symbolic way. They might look at science to help understand how God created the world.

These Christians interpret the Bible literally and accepts every word of the Genesis creation story - therefore rejects scientific theories.

These Christians interpret the Genesis account and conclude that perhaps God was the 'spark' that began the Universe.

This man came up with the theory of Intelligent design. He said that we assume that a pocket watch is designed and therefore the Universe must be designed. Because the universe is much more complex than a pocket watch, the designer must be God.

This man came discovered the cosmological argument a.k.a First Cause. He said that 'everything must be caused by something else but this cannot go back forever, it must have a first cause and this is God. Some Christians say that G caused the Big B.

The scientific theory about the way in which animals and plants adapt to their surroundings - the survival of the fittest.

The Big Bang theory
A scientific theory that a cosmic explosion caused the world to exist over 13 billion years ago. There was nothing before the Big Bang.

Once considered the most dangerous man in society due to the theory of Evolution. He wrote a book called 'On the Origin of species.'

Nicholas Copernicus
Came up with the theory that the sun is the center of the Universe and all planets orbit around it. Before Copernicus came up with this theory, society believed that the Earth was the center of the Universe.

Humanist approah
This is a term used to describe the approach of living life based on reason, experience and human values, rather than religion or superstition. Humanists do not believe in a God or an afterlife.
