Participants are misled of wrongly informed about the aims of the research. Researchers should avoid this unless there is no alternative in the research involved

Right to withdraw
Participants should be able to leave the study at any time if they feel to do so, and they should be able to withdraw any data post study

Participants should be able to discuss the procedure and the findings with the researcher. They must be told if they have been deceived and given the reasons why, any questions must also be answered as fully and as honestly as possible

Consent must be gained and participants informed of what they are agreeing too, by explaining what is involved in advance
