Hormone replacement therapy (HRT)
oral, transdermal patch, subcutaneous implant,topical gel (*** dryness). combi w/progesterone to avoiod endometrial hypoplasia as it inhib synth decresing sensitivity of endometrial changes. SE: inc breast cancer, thromboembolism (inc coag).

contraindicated in regnant women and breast feeding. interacts with antibiotics such as Gamocicilin interfering with ENTERO-HEPATIC CYCLING of estrogen and altering microflora.

estrogenic agonistic effecs on bone, lipid metabolsim and blood coagulation. prevents and treats osteoporosis in post-meno women. also has anti-estrogen (antagonists on receptors) effects on breast tissue and uterus.

anti-estr effects on mammary tissue BUTR estrogenic effects on the endometrium, plasma, lipid and bone. estrogen dependant breast cancer and infertility (POS) decrese risk of developing B.cancer in other breast (cont 5 years after)

FULVESTRANT
ER ANTAGONIST. use dfor er receptor positive metastatic or locally advanced breast cancer (disease progressed/relapse) SE: hot flushes, GI tratc disturbances, anorexia, venous thromboembolism

AROMATASE INHIBITORS (anastrozole)
blocks conversion of androgens to estrogens in perip.tissue but do not inhib ovarian estrogen so NOGGOOD for pre-meno. as effective as TAMOXIFEN for ER+ve.met.b.cancer (postmeno) [current treatment 5 yrs tam 3 yrs A.inhinb]
