What are Esters?

React alchohol and organic acid.

A little sulphuric acid

Why are perfumes volatile?
To evaporate, particles need enough energy. This energy is used to overcome the attraction to the other molecules in the liquid. In perfumes, there is only a weak attraction making it easier to overcome.
