Equity in this context is where the outcomes of the relationship is equal and fair, but doesnt mean the resources but in neccesarily equal

Equality in this situation would be if each partner put in exactly the same amount, and got the same amount out of the relationship

Sheil and Weitmen- Preference to equitable over profitable relationships
Couples where the man earns more, both partners view husbands work as more imoprtant, not reversed when women earn more, makes it difficult for women to judge equity

Walster- Perception of fairnes in relationships
If both partners level of profit it is equal but individuals have their own perception of fairness, unfiarness leads to anger stress and controlling behaviour

Walster- Difference between gifts in LT and ST relationships
In the short term relationships physical gifts are valued more and in long term relationships emotional gifts are more valued
