This addresses the aims of all 20 core studies

HideShow resource information
Equilibrium Mixture
The mixture of reactants and products formed when a reversible reaction is allowed to proceed in a closed container until no further change occurs. The forward and backward reactions are still proceeding but at the same rate.
1 of 5
Le Chatelier's Principle
If a system at equilibrium is disturbed the equilibrium moves in the direction that tends to reduce the disturbance.
2 of 5
Dynamic Equilibrium
A situation where the composition of a reaction mixture does't change because both the forward and backward reactions are proceeding at the same rate.
3 of 5
Catalyst
A substance which speeds up the rate of reaction by providing an alternative reaction pathway which is lower in energy. The catalyst is chemically unchanged at the end of the reaction.
4 of 5
Activation Energy
The minimum amount of kinetic energy needed for particles to react.
