What is elipsis?
Missing a word/words out of a sentence.

What are comparative words?
Comparing words e.g better, faster, slower.

What is a superlative?
When something is of the highest quality or degree e.g worse or best.

Vocab used based on your region.

The way you pronounce your vocab.

Putting two words together e.g do not > don't.

Words with different connotations.

What is a generic term?
Word/phrase that relates to both genders.

What is a pre-modifier?
Adjectives that come before the noun.

What is a diminutive suffix?
Using 'ess' or 'ette' at the ends of words to make them femanine.

What is lexical asymmetry?
Pairs of words that seem to be equal but are not. E.g sir/madam where the female has been degraded.

What are marked terms?
Where the word women or lady is needed becuse people would normally assume the job role is male. E.g lady doctor.

What is CMC?
Computer mediated communication.

What are g clippings and why are they used?
When the g from the end of a word is removed because it is quicker to write or say. It may be used as a means of fitting in within a social group. E.g 'goin'.

What is an initialism?
When the first letters from the words of a phrase are used e.g laugh out loud > LOL.

What are letter number homophones?
When letters or numbers replace words as it is much quicker to write. E.g Gr8 or R U OK

What are non-conventional spellings?
When a letter is purposely spelt wrong to save time or to save number of characters e.g sometime > sumtime.

What is accent stylisation?
When a word is written how it is said. E.g without > wivout.
