were imprisoned in the Tower of London. 2) James' 2 wife had a mal heir - catholic dinasty. They all became Luis XIV pensioners and left the country.

The Glorious Revolution (E)
1688-9 - "Glorious" because it wasn't a bloody war and it signed the end of the Abolute Monarchy. When Parliament called a foreign monarch to run the country, terror spread all over the coutry because William of Ornge arrived with a massive army.

WILLIAM of ORANGE (E)
1689 - The Revolution established that the SOVREIGNITY had to be split between Parliament & the king (governed with the consent of Parliament). It established a CONSTITUTIONAL MONARCHY, the only problem was that P represented just upper classes.

BILL OF RIGHTS (E)
1) Las has to be made in Parliament and couldn't be suspended by the monarch. 2) Parliament had to be callled every 3 years. 3)The Crown couldn't interferein elections & debates. 4)Independence of Judiciary. 5) No standing army in peace time.
