How do you find the emperical formula?
Get the molecular formula. Then divide by the largest numbers that go into the numbers.

How to find the molecular formula?
Find the Mr of the emperical formula. Divide the Mr of the compund by the Mr of the emperical formula. You then multiply everything in the emperical formula by 2.

Distance travelled by solute divided by distance travelled by solvent.

Used to analyse unknown substances. Have to be vapourised. The mobile phase is an unreactive gas while the stationary phase is a thick liquid such as oil.

Method to separate amd identify the substances in a mixture. Mobile phase is when molecules can move. Its always a liquid or gas. The stationary phase is where molecules cant move. It is always a solid or really thick liquid.

Seperates a mixture of liquids.

Separating an insoluble solid from a liquid.

No charged ions. Atoms bonded together to each other by strong covalent bonds.

Protons + Neutrons.

Number of protons.

How do you find the number of neutrons?
Subtract atomic number from the mass number.

Different forms of the same element, which have the same number of protons but a different number of neutrons.
