Made Provisions for the introductionof the Act of Uniformity at a parish level. Required local officals to adopt a 'Protestant' view of worship and practise.

Thirty-Nine-Articles of Religion 1563
Defined the faith of Elizabethan Church. Article 17 emphasised predestination, linking the Elizabethan Church to more radical, Calvnist teachings.

Reason Called: Elizabeth sought a subsidy; parliament was concerned to solve marriage and succession which Elizabeth considered royal prerogative. In 1563 Privy Councillors openly pressed the marriage issues.

Events: Request for subsidy obliged; treason laws passed. Privy Council removed William Strickland who proposed a more Prot Book of Common Prayer (annoying the Queen and memebers of Privy Council who wanted moderate change)

Reason Called: MPs call for Norfolk and MQS execution after Ridolfi Plot. First statutory attempts to introduced a poor law. Events: MPs call for executions prompted by Cecil's MofB; MPs clearly acceded to PCs wishes.

Elizabeth personally objected to the bill for MQS execution: refused to give assent to a bill which bar MQS from successions.

Reason Called: Recall of 1572 Events: Parliament shows compliance in voting for subsidy. Some PCs support a commons petition for further reform. Commons own imprisonment of Peter Wentworth for infringing Royal Prerogative.

Parliament shows compliance, granting subsidy and legislation against Catholics.

Reason Called: Further anti-Catholic legislation. Events: Passed Act of Surety of the Queen's Person, giving legislation basis to the bond of Association. Elizabeth blocked Burghley's attempt to legislation for succesion should she die.

Reason Called:Elizabeth allowed Parliament to discuss whether MQS should be executed. Elizabeth disregarded habits of all her reign and sough parliamentary adive. Attempt at Presbyterian reform by numbers of MPs ended with thier leaders' imprisonment
