Electrolysis
The process that uses electricity to break down ionic compounds into elements.

A liquid, containing free-moving ions, that is Brocken down by electricity in the process of electrolysis.

A substance that does not react with the products.

Anode
Positive electrode.

Cathode
Negative electrode.

are substances which form H+(aq) ions when added to water. They have a PH less than 7.

are substances which form OH- (aq) ions when added to water. They are a base that dissolves in water.

a substance that will neutralise an acid ( includes all alkalis). It has a PH greater than
