Electric Fields

?
What is an electric field?
Region of space in which charged particles experience a force, either attractive or repulsive
1 of 7
Which way do electric field lines point?
In the direction a positive charge would move in the field
2 of 7
What is electric field strength?
Force per positive unit charge, NC-1 or Vm-1
3 of 7
What is Coulomb's Law?
Force is directly proportional to the product of the two charges involved. Force is inversely proportional to the square of separation between the two charges.
4 of 7
What is electric potential?
Work done in moving a positive point charge from infinity to that point
5 of 7
What is electric potential difference?
Work done in moving a positive point charge from one point to another, ΔW = QΔV
6 of 7
What are equipotential lines?
Lines along which electric potential is equal, no work is done when moving a charge along these lines
