what happens in a series circuit?
the current (pizza boys) is the same everywhere; the voltage (pizzas) are given to each light (houses) but sometimes the lights have different amounts of volts; the voltage = potential difference.

what happens in a parallel circuit?
the current (pizza boys) is the same everywhere; the voltage is the same for each current (pizza boy).
2 of 21
how do you work out the potential difference?
Voltage going in - Voltage going out
3 of 21
what is the current and voltage measured in?
current = amps voltage = volts
4 of 21
what does Ohm's law state?
Ohm's law states that the current through a conductor is proportional to the potential difference across it so long as the temperature stays constant.
5 of 21
how do you work out the resistance(Ω)?
volatge(V)/current(A)
6 of 21
if the current is smaller, what happens to the resistance?
the resistance is higher.
7 of 21
what is the method for the current-voltage characteristics circuit?
1.create circuit using D.C. supply, variable resistor, bulb, voltmeter, ammeter and 6 wires. 2.set the variable resistor so that the volometer is IV and record the results of the ammeter. 3.repeat this with intervals of IV until you reach the maximum

when a current through a lamp increases, what happens to the resistance?
it increases.
14 of 21
when the temperature of a thermistor increases, what happens to the resistance?
it decreases.
15 of 21
as diodes only allow current through in one direction what happens to the resistance when the current is reversed?
it increases.
16 of 21
when light falling on an LDR increases, what happens to the resistance of the LDR?
it decreases.
17 of 21
how do you work out the energy (J)?
power(W)/time(t)
18 of 21
how do you work out the power (P)?
current(A) x voltage(V)
