Define ecosystem?
an ecosystem is a Complex of living organisms, their physical environment, and all their interrelationships in a particular unit of space.
1 of 9
name the spheres
biosphere-where all life is found lithosphere-Earths crust Atmosphere-the sky and the outside layer of the earth Hydrosphere-water e.g ocean
2 of 9
how does biosphere connect with the other spheres?
biosphere is where all life is found so the animals need to drink or live in the hydrosphere when they die and decompose they go to the lithosphere and birds go in the atmosphere.
3 of 9
how does energy transfer through a ecosystem?
through food webs and chains for animals photosynthesis for plants
4 of 9
what is the trophic level?
it is the level the animal is at for example level 1 algae and plants 2 herbivores 3 carnivores 4 carnivores that eat carnivores 5 apex carnivors
5 of 9
define the term biome?
a biome is like a habitat for example a rain forest or a desert is a biome.
6 of 9
biomes have different factors name a factor for the biome mountain?
altitude is high, little oxygen, little life away from any industrial sites.
7 of 9
How and why do animals/plants adapt?
an example is in a rainforests plant have adapted to grow faster as a result of the sunlight at the canopy so its a race for about 10 plants to fit one space the one who makes it will stay and live there for years the rest will die.
8 of 9
name another example of adaptation?
Darwin finches and beak change.
