how is dry mouth managed depending on the score given. 1-3, 4-6, 7-10
:1-3 may not need treatment, sugar free chewing gum, attention to hydration. 4-6: sugar free gum or sialogogues. consider saliva substitutes and topical fluoride. 7-10: saliva substitutes and topical fluoride

what is the treatment for dry mouth in terms of a) stimulation b) systemic therapy
a) sugar free chewing gum/sweets, artificial saliva pastilles (salivix), saliva- stimulating tablet (SST) b). pilocarpine

what replacement is available
saliva replacement sprays- neutral pH, electrolyte composition, fluoride, glandosane, saliveze. + saliva replacement gels: contain antimicrobials- lactoferrin, lactoperoxidase, biotene oral balance saliva replacement gel

what is the prevention treatment
dietary advice, improve and maintain OH, fluoride - sodium fluoride mouthwash 0.05%, sodium fluoride toothpaste 0.619% or 1.1% (2800 or 5000 ppm)
