Patterns begin to resemble speech. It rises at the end of an utterance. Child may be able to rhythm and emphasise to demonstrate greeting or calling.

Compared adults and children to see if they could predict football results by listening to scores. Research found that adults could predict successfully whereas children were less accurate.
