Anything with a temperature above 0c.Higher heat = more energy.
1 of 9
Kinetic energy
Anything that moves has kenetic energy.
2 of 9
Nuclear energy.
Heat and light energy is released when atoms are split. If it is released slowly then the energy can be harnessed and used. If the energy is released all at once it will cause an explosion.
3 of 9
Sound energy.
This is created by vibration. Kinetic energy gives rise to sound energy eg. vocal chords, a drum.
4 of 9
Light energy.
Anything luminous gives off light energy eg. the sun, a candle, a glow worm.(Luminous means to give off or reflect light).
5 of 9
Chemical energy.
Comes from sources of stored energy eg. food, petrol and batteries.
6 of 9
Electrical energy.
Electrical energy is the energy provided by the flow of electrons in a circuit and it is easily converted into other forms of energy.
7 of 9
Gravitational potential energy.
Anything above the ground has this energy eg. an acorn on a tree, an aeroplane, a kite blowing in the wind.
8 of 9
Elastic energy.
Anything stretched has elastic energy eg. knicker elastic, springs, rubber bands.
