What is GDP?
Gross Domestic Product- total value of goods and services produced by a country in a year.

What is GNP?
Gross National Income- total value of goods and services produced in a year by people of a particular nationality (GDP+money from those living abrpad).

Why can these measures of development be misleading on their own?
Avergaes therefore don't show elite groups or variations.

Why shouldn't certain measures be used on their own?
Some aspects develop before others, so a country could seem more developed than it actually is.

Whatcompund measure can avoid these problems?
HDI- Human Development Index. A no. calculated using Life Expectancy, Literacy Rate, Educational Level (eg. degree) and Income Per Capita. More developed= higher HDI.
