Brain
Organ in head made up of nerves that process information and controll behaviour.

Forebrain
Anterior part of brain - including hemispheres and central brain structures.

Midbrain
Middle section of brain forming part of central nervous system.
3 of 10
Hindbrain
Lower part of brain that includes the cerebellum, pons and medulla oblongata.

Anterior
Directed towards the front (when used in biology).
5 of 10
Posterior
Directed towards the back (when used in biology).
6 of 10
Cerebellum
Near the brainstem, controlls motor movement (muscle actions).
7 of 10
Medulla Oblongata
Connects the upper brain to the spinal cord and controls automatic responses.

An Involuntary Response
A response to a stimulus that occurs without someone making a concious choice.

Neural Connections
Links formed by messages passing from one nerve cell (neuron) to another.
