development is measured using HDI (the human development index) also health care, literacy rate, education, income,life expectancy and technology.

What are the advantages of using fairtrade?
The advantages are humane working conditions, more money, education.healthcare and a guaranteed minimum payment for the farmers.

What are the disadvantages of using fairtrade?
the disadvantages are products are more expensive for the customer, they may not be local to buy, not everyone can afford them and also this leads to favouratism of certain countries.

What is the relationship between trade and development?
the more developed countries have the skills to be able to make manufactured because they are more educated. The less developed countries can only trade primary producs because they are simple to make and dont require as much skill.

What is the global chain?
The global chain is the link between all different countries which have a input in the making orf a product. For example from the very first design to when the customer buys the product.

What is a TNC?
Transnational corporations- setting up alot of the same buisnesses in other countries, for example McDonalds.

What different ways can the development gap be reduced?
the development gap can be reduced by using fairtrade, tourism and play pumps (because the women wont have to go and collect the water so they can be educated during the day, this will reduce the development gap.)

What are the consequences off the development gap?
The consequences of the development gap are as time goes on the development gap increases leading the poorer countries to not even be able to afford basic need whilst richer countries can afford luxuaries.
