Define DETERMINISM
Everything that happens has a cause or determining factor

Determinists believe in universal causation, they are not interested in what causes our actions, just that there is a cause. The causes of our actions may be varied, complex and consist of stages.

Says that our actions are no more than physical processes and brain activity. It is closely linked with science

What do HARD DETERMINISTS believe?
That every event is determined by a pre-existent cause. we are not free and cannot be held morally responsible for our actions. We are not able to act in any other way because our actions have prior causes. It is meaningless to praise or blame people

What do SOFT DETERMINISTS believe?
Events are subject to influence . Even if everything is determined part of what determines it is my own internal process of choosing. We can still be held responsible for our actions. We can be blamed or praised for out actions
