What 3 things do you need to consider and decide on when writing your introduction to your research?
Consider past research, whose findings lead to aims/hypotheses. Decide on the aims and/or hypothesis. Decide whether to use a directional or non-directional hypothesis, which is related to what past research has found.

What aspects do you need to include in your method when designing your research?
Decide on the target population and research method, which should be related to aims and the advantages and disadvantages. In an experiment or study using correlational analysis you need to identify the independent, dependent or co-variables.

What 2 things do you need to consider regarding the design and materials used in the study?
Consider what materials you will use and describe these, and consider issues related to validity and reliability and how they will be dealt with.
3 of 15
What information needs to be recorded regarding participants in the study?
Identify a suitable sampling technique and explain how it will be used. Consider size and composition of the sample. If using independent groups, explain how to assign participants. In an observation, sampling also how often observations are recorded

What do you need to identify in your study regarding ethics?
Any ethical issues that might arise and consider how they might be dealt with.
5 of 15
What 3 things must you include in your procedure?
Outline standardised instructions. Explain when and what materials will be given, where the participants are tested, how long they will have. Conduct a pilot study.
6 of 15
What 2 things should you incluse in the results of your study?
Consider what statistic to use, and for a questionnaire/interview, analysis focuses on individual questions, so qualitative methods may be used.
7 of 15
Define abstract.
A summary of the study covering aims, hypothesis, method, results and conclusion.
8 of 15
What should be inculded in an introduction?
It begins with a review of previous research, which should lead to the study. It should start broadly and narrow down to the hypothesis. The researcher states their aims, research prediciton and/or hypothesis.
9 of 15
Define method.
It's a description of what the researcher did, providing information for replication of the study.
10 of 15
Outline the 5 components of a method.
Design - desicions might be justified. Participants - information about sampling, how many took part and their details. Apparatus/materials. Procedures. Ethics - how they were dealt with.
11 of 15
Define results.
What the researcher found. In the case of qualitative research, categories and themes are described along with examples.
12 of 15
Define discussion.
The researcher interprets the results and considers future research and real-world applications.
13 of 15
Outline the 3 components of a discussion.
Summary of results - the results are reported in brief and some explanation about what they show. Relationship to previous research - reported in the introduction and other research no mentioned. Consideration of method - Criticisms and improvements.

What is included in a reference?
Details of journal articals or books that are mentioned.
