1 of 8
What are Inferential Statistics?
Methods used to reach conclusions about populations based on samples and probability.
2 of 8
What are the Levels of Measurement?
Nominal, Ordinal, Ratio and Interval.
3 of 8
What are Statistical Methods?
They make assumptions about what type of data you've got.
4 of 8
What is the Measure of Central Tendency?
The mean sum of scores divided by number of scores.
5 of 8
What is Variance?
Tells us how far a set of scores are spread out from their average value. - mean (Average distance from the mean). Only suitable for ratio/interval data.
6 of 8
What is Standard Deviation?
A measure of average scores about the mean, the average deviation from the mean. (Small SD - less spread about the mean, Large SD - more spread about the mean).
7 of 8
How do you calculate the variance & standard deviation?
Find the mean, do variance table, calculate variance and then find SD.
