distant; deed that had to be done. Can imagine doing so yourself to save your people like Judith (Holofernes was Assyrian general). Feel like you're in the painting. Art stimuli drive empathetic motions and responses that generate emotion in viewer.

Found they gazed longer at one they chose just prior to decision. Maybe because act of orienting towards something makes you like it...

Did 2nd experiment where they showed faces one at a time. Unbeknownst to p's displayed 1 for longer (900 and 300ms). Had to choose which face more attractive. 900ms more attractive, like what they see.
