Universal Suffrage
Almost all people in the UK have the right to vote. Apart from those with a disability, in prison or who cant physically vote.

It suggests that many of the functions of the state, largely in local government, should be replaced by local activism. E.g free schools to be run by local community groups. This will provide employment opportunities for the young.

In the UK political participation had declined due to many people think governments have too much of the same policies, also could be the result of a coalition. 1979 turnout was 76% in 2010 turnout was 65.2%

Idea developed from labour party circles in 1990's. Expresses duty of all citizens to be politically active.

Pluralist democracy everyone has their voice heard, mino' free voice and free from discrimination. However many people think democracy allows tyranny of the majority (minorities).
