the flute
it represent his father who was absent during is childhood and went to alaska for gold mine and never returned.

broken bottle analogy
biff is the broken bottle and charley tries to tell willy that he wont get anything back from all of his efforts but willy struggles to accept it

the jungle
it symbolises life and that only the fittest will survive. Ben went out jungle and came out of it rich.

the fountain pen
biff stole the fountain pen from bill oliver desk in anger of not seeing him. him stealing again as an adult helps reinforce idea that Willy helped his negative behaviour and had excuses for him stealing. We later find out he was in jail for 3 months

diamonds
represent ben's success as he had career in it. Willy once had one gifted to him by ben but had to pawn it to help biff, however this sacrifice was pointless which also foreshadows the end of play

stockings
its a symbol of willy's betrayal and guilt. He gives his mistress a new pair of stockings which is starkly contrasted with linda sitting repairing them making willy angry. Makes audience feel pathos for her as willy has exploited her kindness
