Information that is in narrative form; behaviour measured in words.

Captures the complexity of feelings in detailed responses so useful data is retained. Good overview of human behaviour.

Give a disadvantage of qualitative data.
Difficult to analyse using statistics, tables, or graphs. Patterns are hard to see.

What does a large SD mean?
Lots of variation around the mean; scores were widely spread; pps responding differently.

What does a small SD mean?
Scores were close to the mean; pps were responding similarly.
