Alignment
The ability to balance body parts one on top of the other for good posture. It's a dynamic position of readiness to move during movement.

Flexibility
Increased muscular elasticity with mobility in the joints increasing the range of motion.

Strength
The capacity to exert muscle contraction against resistance - Isotonic and Isometric contractions.

Stamina
The endurance of either the muscles or the heart and breathing- Muscular endurance (Ability of a muscle to continue to contract over a period of time) and Cardiovascular endurance (The ability to continue aerobic activity over a period of time.

Co- ordination
Requires negotiating the direction of forces in the body so that complex dance skills and combinations can be performed safely and expressively.

Balance
The ability to keep upright while you are standing still or moving. Use of the core and focus is vital here.

Power
In simple terms this is "speed x strength" or doing strength movements quickly.

Health
Is a state of total mental, physical and social well- being, and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity.

Focus
Using the eyes to enhance performance or interpretative qualities.

Projection
When a dancer gives out appropriate energy to connect with a audience and draw them into the performance.

Musicality
Ability to pick up the unique qualities of the accompaniment and make them evident through performance
