What is alignment?
To be straight or to maintain the correct relative position.

What does it feel like to have a well-aligned body?
Free, easy to move, effortless carriage of the head and awareness of all parts of the body. You should be free to move.

What is the Plumb Line?
A straight line from the head to the toes. Shoulders, hips and knees should be level.

What is the Triangular Distribution of Weight?
The weight should be spread evenly between three points across the ball of the foot to the heal.

What is good posture vital for?
Control, safety and expression.

What is balance?
Stability and directing the energy of the movement throughout the body.

Aural organs of the ears and the skin extreroceptors.

Explain how dancers improve their skills.
By movement reputations dancers build a link between commands and muscle memory. Memory picture sorted in the brain; skills increase, inprove and become automatic.

How is flexibility improved?
By stretching

What happens when you stretch?
The muscle lengthens along the direction of the fibres. Protective relex makes the muscles contract (stretch reflex). This prevents overstretching and muscle tearing.

What should you do when stretching?
Start gently, gradually build in energy. Warm up before. Concentrate on one muscle group and after, do the reverse (stretch in opposite direction). Know the muscle groups you are stretching. Listen to your body.

What is stamina?
Staying power, endurance of either the muscles of the heart and breathing.

What is Muscular endurance?
Ability of a muscle to continue to contract over a period of time.

What is cardio respiratory?
Ability to continue aerobic activity over a period of endurance.
