Criticism
There cannot be one criminal gene that accounts for all criminal behaviour - hard to believe that the same gene is responsible for violent crimes, intellectual crimes and crimes against property

Idea that criminals look different is not supported by evidence. Their look can be explained by other factors - Society may be prejudiced against certain looks and this is why certain types of people end up being arrested or sent to prison

Social Learning Theory
Suggests that we learn most behaviours from observing and immitating others.

Vicarious Reinforcement
When someone's behaviour is reinforced because they observe how another person is rewarded for the same behaviour (gangs)

Crime prevention
Placing restrictions or bans on movies and games which are considered violent. This stops children from being introduced to violence and reduce 'copy-cat' crimes
