What is a Semantic Field?
A Semantic Field is a theme in which a selection of words link to.

What is a flashback?
A flashback can provide additional information about a characters background. It happened before the current part of the story and can be used anywhere in a story.

What is a flashforward?
A flashforward can show information on the future or what is going to happen. A flashforward happens after the current part of the story.

What is Zooming in?
Zooming in is when the author goes into greater detail of a certain part or object in the story. It can be a character's thoughts, objects/items,the setting, the actual character and the character's actions.

What is personification?
Personification is when the writer puts human aspects and actions to an inhumane object, item or non-human thing.

What is narrative perspective and what are the 3 known ones?
Narrative Perspective is the different perspective each sentence/story use. The 3 perspectives are: 1st person (I), 2nd person (you, your), 3rd person (they, she, he).

What are narrative hooks?
Narrative Hooks are a method used to engage the readers into the story.

Name the narrative hooks:
Puzzling Hook (Makes reader ask questions), Direct Address (feels like the reader is being spoken to), Subtle Hook (creates a sense of curiosity), Visual Hook (sets scene), Atmospheric Hook (weather) and Funny Hook (humour)

What is an Extended Metaphor?
An extended metaphor compares two things without using 'like' or 'as'.

A Cyclical Structure is when a story ends the same as the beginning.
