What is meant by Gross Muscle Involvement?
Involves large muscle movements where there is little concern for precision.

What is meant by Fine Muscle Involvement?
Involves intricate movement using small muscle groups and emphasises hand - eye coordination. Usually involves accuracy.

What is meant by Open Environmental Involvement?
Movements that are affected by the environment, team mates, opponents, playing surface. Lots of decisions to be made; they are usually externally paced.

What is meant by Closed Environmental Involvement
Not affected by the environment, they are habitual. Follows a technical modeal, they are usually self - paced.

What is meant by Discrete Continuity?
Have a clear beginning and an end. To be repeated this single skill must be started again.

What is meant by Serial Continuity?
Skills that have a number of discrete elements put together in a definite order to make a movement or sequence.

What is meant by Continuous Continuity?
Have no definite beginning or an end. The end of one cycle of the movment is the start of the next.

What is meant by Self Paced?
The performer is in control and determines when the movement starts and the reate at which it proceeds.

What is meant by Externally Paced?
The control of the movment is not determined by the performer but by the environment (often the opponent)

What is meant by Simple Difficulty?
Little informayion to process and few decisions to make. A small number of sub routines involved where speed and timing are not critical. The use of feedback is ntos significant.

What is meant by Complex Difficulty?
Have a high perceptual load leading to many decisions having to be made. The skill will have many sub routines where speed and timing are critical, together with the significant use of feedback.

What is meant by Low Organisation?
Made up of sub - routines that are easily seperated and practiced by themselved.
13 of 14
What is meant by High Organisation?
Movement skills where the sub routines are very closely linked together and are very difficult to seperate without disrupting the skill.
