Method
Split into age groups, 5yrs, 11-17 yrs. Digit span was max digits recalled in correct order without error. Digit sequences were read out and increased by one digit every sequence.

Average digit span - 5 yrs = 3.7. 15-17 yrs = 5.8. Digit span increases from 5-11 and then stays steady and slows
