Conduction

?
Where does cponduction mainly occur?
In solids as liquids and gassses are poor conductors.
1 of 6
What is the process of conduction?
One end of a solid is heated meaning the particles at that end gain kinetic energy and vibrate more. This energy is then passed onto neighbouring particles transferring energy through the solid.
2 of 6
What material does conduction occur in?
Metals
3 of 6
Why are all metals good conductors?
When metals are heated their free electrons gian kinetic energy and move through the metal, transferring energy by colliding with other particles
4 of 6
What is a poor conductor called?
An Insulator
5 of 6
Give two materials which are good insulators and why they are good insulators
Plastic, Glass, Rubber, Wood etc becuase they contain trapped air and air is a poor conductor.
