Divide the denary number by 2. If there is a remainder write down 1 by the side. If not write a 1. Continue until zero. Read off the binary number starting with the last remainder.

If using a calculator the remainder can be calculated using the following method. Perform the division: 141/16 = 8.8125 Subtract the whole number: 8.8125 - 8 = 0.8125 Multiply by 16: 0.8125 x 16 = 13 Our remainder is therefore 13.
