Comprehension Test 8

The Big Wave Surge

At 1953, many people died by a wave surge, which came from Northern Ireland and Netherlands. Here, this family is going to Glasgow via Stranraer. Let's hear them.

" Gwen! " cried Dad, " The surge is here! "

" AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! " Gwen shrieked in fear. Was the surge really there?  Or it could be a dream? Yes! The surge was actually there! Unfortunately, there wasn't any way. No way! No other way!

" Hide! " ordered Mum.

The family hid inside the ferry, beseeching God's name.

" Hello dear! " cried a hoarse voice. There was a mobster with many tattoos on his hand.

" How d you do? "

The mobster grabbed Gwen's Mum, as she was very beautiful. Then, he tried to attract her by doing something disgusting to her. Gwen's father punched the mobster and he fell dead.

Suddenly, there were strong winds to the east and pulled Gwen away from the ferry.

" Come back! " cried Mum and Dad horrifically.
