They are supposed to have their own complaints procedure, but if a complaint cannot be handled in this way after 8 weeks it is dealt with by the Legal Ombudsman

This is when there are allegations that fraud or dishonesty is going on

What happens with referrals to the Solicitors Disciplinary?
This deals with individual solicitors and deals with cases where a solicitor has been dishonest, received a criminal conviction, or mishandled money, they can fine/suspend them

What happens in cases of poor service?
If the firm does not deal with this, it should be referred to the Legal Ombudsman based in Birmingham.
