Western Buddhist Order
'going for refuge' - devoting oneself to the Buddha. If you are ordained you don't become a monk or nun. Don't take vow of poverty. Living by Buddhist principles in Western society.

Zen Buddhism
Enlightenment exists in everyone all the time but it is smothered. Enlightenment comes in flashes. Mondo -rapid questions and answers+Koan- riddles that can't be answered by ordinary thinking, lead to flashes of enlightenment.

Features of a vihara
Bot -ordination hall. Whian- worship hall. Chedis - stupas. Statues. Great Buddha. Meeting hall. Library. Living quarters. Shrines.

Arahant
An enlightened person who is free from desire. 'one who is worthy of respect'
