Communist Russia Under Lenin and Stalin

After Lenin death on 21st January 1924, there was no confimed successor to the Russian Soviet Frederal Socialist Republic (RSFSR); as in his final testament, he only attacked the likes of: Kamenev and Zinoviev, for their dislike of the October Revolution; Trotsky, for his 'non- Bolshevism'; and especially Stalin, for his rudeness and abusement of the role as General Secretary (and Lenin requested that Stalin should be removed). Due to the fact there was no chosen 'heir' - except for the possible hint of Bukharin 'the golden boy' as Lenin put him - there was competition between members of the Politburo, who all competed to fill the role as head of the Soviet Union. Though bear in mind Lenin requested a collective leadership to govern after his death, not a dictatorship. Didn't Stalin make him proud.....
