Ballot bills (20 names chosen at random) 10 min rules bill (can talk about a bill for 10 mins).

2015 HOL wanted delay on Tax credit regulations 2015. Cut tax credits by £4.4 bill. Tax credits act 2002 gave him this power – too much power to not be scrutinised

However strong gov a whip can override the oppositions.Blairs first 9 years not a single bill was defeated, 4 were in his last year. May's 2017 has been defeated on 25 times, 12 in 2019.

In 2015 a total of 450 has been MP's,fewer than the number of men (459) in the 2015 Parliament. Overall 32% of MPs are women. 45% of Labour and 21% of Tories.
