The climacteric fruits are harvested when fully formed but not ripe, then transported as they are hard and easier to bruise, then when they are needed for sale they are exposed to ethene in controlled conditions to ripen them

How are hormones used commercially in rooting powders and micropropagation?
Auxin stimulates root growth in the right concentration so scientists use this to encourage root growth in cutting (section of plant cut and grown into new plant), it also helps in micropropagation as they can stimulate growth from just a few cells

Describe how people use hormones as weed killers
In fields where we grow monocot plants like wheat maize rice etc, they use dicot synthetic auxins (dicot weeds) which affects their metabolism, causes them to grown rapidly becoming unsustainable and causes them to die, monocots are unaffected

Auxins can be used to produce seedless fruit, ethene used in fruit dropping e.g. cotton, cherries, Cytokinins can prevent aging of ripened fruit, gibberellins can delay ripening and aging in fruit, improving size and shape
