What was the Arms Race?
This was a competition between the two superpowers to who had the most power. This was done by creating nuclear weapons such as the H-Bomb.

What happened in 1952 and 1955?
USA created their first H-Bomb in 1952 followed by the USSR in 1955. This showed that there were spies in the USA, and increased tensions. It also showed that the USSR were not far behind them in the Arms Race.

what does Cominform mean?
Communist Information Bureau - Russian style communism.

What does Comecon mean?
Council for Mutual Economic Assistance which was to nationalise states industry and collectivise agriculture.

What did Stalin do in Poland that went against the agreement stated at the Yalta Conference?
He made Poland have a pro-soviet 'puppet' government. This went against the free elections. He also banned non-communist parties.
