Attrition -
Rocks and pebbles smashing into each other and breaking up

Erosion -
The wearing away of rocks by the cation of these and their removal.

Weathering-
The breaking up of rocks in situ by the actions of weather, chemicals or biology.

Abrasion -
Materals such as sand and pebbles mashing against the cliff by breaking waves , which can cause undercutting and the erosion of the cliff.

Hydraulic action -
Water gets into holes in rocks which causes and increase in pressure which is then released when the water goes out and the air expands explosively causing the rocks to crack and shatter.

Wetting and drying -
Constant wetting drying causes rocks to continually contract and expand resulting in cracks to the surface and the rock weakening.

Freeze Thaw Weathering -
Water getting into cracks in rocks and freezing causing an increases in pressure to the surrounding rock.

Corrosion-
Crabon Dioxide dissolving in rain causing it to become acidic where it than reacts with certain minerals in the rocks making them weaker or dissolve .

Do Nothing-
Let the coast erode naturally

Hold the line-
Defend the coastline to keep to where it is presently

Advance the Line-
Build new defences further out from the existing coastline to try to retain lost land

Managed Realignment-
Developing defences further inland and allowing some coastal flooding to happen.
