What are the advantages and disadvantages of a sea wall on the Holderness coastline?
4.7km sea wall at Bridlington-protected the town from erosion, but erosion happens faster just south of the town. Over time Bridlington may become a headland which erodes more heavily. Maintaining defences will become even more expensive.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of groynes on the Holderness coastline?
At Mappleton, 2 rock groynes have been used to protect the town and road, however they cost £2 million and this has increased erosion further south and Cowden farm is now at risk of collapsing into the sea.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of rock armour along the Holderness coast?
Rock armour is used at spurn head spit. It prevents the spit from being eroded so quickly. However, in powerful waves/storms, the rip rap can be moved.
