A state of intense sadness, that disrupts the individual's ability to function in social settings and/or activities to daily life

Changes in appetite+weight, lack of energy, loss of libido, disturbs sleep, avoiding contact with friends, neglecting hobbies+interests, feeling anxious, continuously low or sad, low self-esteem, no motivation or interest in things

What are the symptoms of clinical depression 2?
intolerant of others, not getting any enjoyment out of life, having suicidal thoughts or thoughts of harming yourself

How would a GP provide support and care?
They would provide advice and support, and can prescribe anti-depressants or other medication, they can then refer the individual to other professionals more suited to supporting their needs

How would a Psychiatrist provide support and care?
They will provide specialised therapies and medications that are best suited to their condition to allow the most effective and efficient treatment

How would an occupational therapist provide support and care?
Will help the individual adapt their environment to cope with their daily life, e.g. self-care+physical activities , that will release endorphins in order to help the individual feel good. they can also provide relaxation therapies for support
